Phone touch not working: what to try, and what it needs
Restart or force restart the phone, unplug any cable, then remove a cracked or thick screen protector and clean the screen. If touch works in Safe Mode, an app is to blame. If touch is still dead or presses itself after a drop, the screen hardware is damaged and needs new glass or a new screen.

Touch is not working (touch kaam nahi kar raha). What should I try first?
Start with the free steps. A frozen phone looks like dead touch, and a restart clears it. Water, grease or a cracked protector can also stop touch or make it press by itself.
- Force restart the phone with the buttons for your brand.
- Unplug the charger and any accessory; some faulty chargers cause ghost touches.
- Dry and clean the screen with a soft cloth.
- Remove a cracked, lifted or thick screen protector and test again.
Can an app cause touch problems? How do I test in Safe Mode?
Yes, sometimes. Safe Mode starts Android with downloaded apps turned off. On most Android phones, hold the power button, then press and hold Power off until Safe mode appears. If touch works there, remove recently added apps. iPhones have no Safe Mode; update the iPhone instead.
Why does my screen touch by itself (ghost touch)?
Ghost touches come from damage to the touch layer, often after a drop or pressure, from moisture on or under the glass, a cracked protector, or a faulty charger. If it stops when the charger is unplugged and the screen is dry, it was not the screen.
Does dead touch need new glass or a whole new screen?
It depends on where the touch layer sits in your phone and on the panel. If the picture is clean, you can often replace just the glass and fix cracked glass with dead touch. If there are lines, black patches or flicker as well, the panel is damaged and the screen is changed.
